TECHNOVA 1.0 was proudly organized by Saint Soldier's School, Sec-16, Panchkula in association with our esteemed partner, STEMOrbit.

As the inaugural techfest, the event cultivated a culture of creativity, problem-solving, and innovation among young minds. It provided an opportunity for students to exhibit pioneering projects that addressed real-world challenges through sustainable, scalable, and impactful solutions.

TECHNOVA 1.0 was designed to encourage students to showcase innovative ideas and projects that solved practical problems. The event celebrated creativity, technical competence, and meaningful innovation that could create positive change in society.

Project Categories

  1. Pure Waters, Bright Futures: Projects on water conservation, purification, and sustainable resource management aligned with SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
  2. Revolutionizing Industries, Transforming Lives: Projects focused on automation, smart manufacturing, and intelligent infrastructure aligned with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
  3. Changemakers (Open category): Innovative ideas addressing day-to-day challenges with practical and feasible solutions.

Rules and Guidelines

  1. Team Composition: Each team included a maximum of two students from classes 6-10. Each school was allowed to register up to two teams in two different categories only. One participant could take part in only one event.
  2. Abstract Submission: Teams submitted by November 7, 2024. The submission included a 200-word abstract (problem statement, proposed solution, expected outcomes) and an 8-slide presentation.
  3. Registration: There was no registration fee. Participants registered through the event QR code form.
  4. Project Presentation: Final presentations were held on November 16, 2024 (Saturday). Reporting time was 8:30 AM; outstation teams reported by 9:00 AM. Each team was given 5 minutes plus a brief Q&A.
  5. Evaluation Criteria: Innovation, Feasibility, Impact, and Presentation.
  6. Prizes: Winners of each category were awarded. The top 3 schools received cash prizes of Rs 5000, Rs 2500, and Rs 1500 respectively. Certificates were awarded to all participants.
  7. Seat Availability: Registration was accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with limited seats.

Dr. Isha Gupta portrait

Dr. Isha Gupta

Academic Head, ECE Department, Chitkara University Punjab

Dr. Isha Gupta served as Academic Head in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Chitkara University, Punjab. She earned her PhD from Chitkara University in 2021 and completed her M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2014. She joined teaching in 2014 and had been actively engaged in Artificial Intelligence research since 2016.

Her major research interests include Artificial Intelligence and Networking. She has authored and co-authored 15 papers in international journals and conference contributions. She has 16 patents to her credit, out of which 4 patents are granted.

Mr. Anil Koul

Scientist E, Semiconductor Laboratory (MeitY)

Mr. Anil Koul served as a distinguished Scientist E at the Semiconductor Laboratory under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, with over 20 years of extensive experience in VLSI design. He holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from Jammu University and an M.Tech in VLSI Design from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana.

His research focused on analog design in VLSI, with specialization in developing circuits for visible and thermal imagery as well as power management solutions. His expertise in advanced semiconductor technology and analog VLSI circuits contributed to high-performance imaging and efficient power management systems.

Additional Rules and Information

  • Prototype/Model Requirement: Teams are encouraged to prepare a working model or prototype. Visual aids or 3D models are also welcome where required.
  • Judging Panel: The panel consisted of experts from engineering, healthcare, environmental sciences, and public administration, ensuring comprehensive and unbiased evaluation.
  • Presentation Setup: Basic facilities such as power outlets and seating were provided. Participants carried required equipment (laptop, hotspot, etc.) as needed.
  • Participants are responsible for their own devices and belongings.
  • Originality and Plagiarism Policy: Projects must be original. Plagiarism, unauthorized third-party content use, or missing source credit leads to disqualification.
  • Code of Conduct: Participants were expected to maintain decorum. Misconduct or rule violations could result in disqualification.
  • TECHNOVA 1.0 concluded as a memorable and impactful event, showcasing innovative solutions by bright young minds.
